Reality hit The Apprentice is set to stay on air until at least 2014 after Lord Sugar confirmed he has signed up for another two series of the show. Lord Sugar has said he will do at least two more series of The Apprentice The mogul confirmed the news as he opened applications for series nine of the show earlier this week ? saying he would also be on board for a tenth run. He also confirmed the news on his Twitter page, saying, ?I?ve agreed 2 more series making it 10 years of the Apprentice. I?ve opened applications again for series 9 apply now.? A source told The Sun that BBC bosses were ?delighted? to have Lord Sugar on board for another two years, despite disappointing viewing figures for the last series which was the least watched since 2008 before it rallied to land almost 7million viewers for the final. ?Series eight may have started slowly but the audience gradually picked up,? the insider said. ?And Lord Sugar is still considered to be a ratings winner for the BBC.? This year?s series was won by recruitment agency manager Ricky Martin, who won the chance to become Lord Sugar?s newest business partner and receive a ?250,000 take in his venture, a recruitment agency specialising in science and technology. The winner of next year?s series will also have the chance to pocket a ?250,000 investment.
