Job Description:

Account Manager - Internal

Job Context:

  • To work within the retail division and manage the existing customer base comprising of major retailers as directed. The role will be office based but will from time to time require visits to customers.

Job Purpose:

  • To proactively manage nominated Major' Accounts and communicate with the relevant departments within Westcoast to ensure that we deliver the best possible customer proposition, thus ensuring customer retention and delivering year on year sales growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work proactively with the respective Account Director and appropriate Vendor and Retailer personnel to optimise opportunities in the designated accounts.
  • Take responsibility for and manage in conjunction with relevant colleagues the efficient operation of all aspects of the respective Retailer accounts:
  • Price file maintenance
  • Monitoring of weekly stock and sales
  • Analysing intake plans
  • Monitoring and control of promotional activity
  • Effective handling Retailer debit notes
  • New product set up
  • Returns
  • Communicate with Retailer personnel as required to understand and document relevant information that facilitates on-going business development and enhancement of relevant relationships.
  • Manage efficiently and effectively and at all stages, the Retailer's forecasting process and ensure that all relevant colleagues are involved as necessary with regard to respective Intake Plans.
  • Monitor revenue and margin performance of accounts against forecasts and take relevant action to ensure overachievement against targets.
  • Proactively seek for new ways to improve the on-going trading relationship within account portfolio .
  • Management of adhoc activities relevant to the role as required.

Education

  • Educated to A' level or equivalent standard

Skills

  • Excellent Communicator to all levels
  • Self Motivated/ability to work unsupervised
  • Organised
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain processes within a Retail environment
  • PC/systems literate

Environment

  • Office based, occasional Customer offsite visits as required.
